Elizabeth T. Young

Esq.

Elizabeth T. Young is Of Counsel with Robinson & Farthing LLC and concentrates her practice in commercial real estate, secured lending, business transactions, general corporate matters and related areas. Ms. Young has extensive experience and expertise in commercial real estate acquisitions, development, leasing, financing and sales, representing regional, national and international retail, office and industrial developers as well as individual purchasers, sellers, borrowers, landlords and tenants. She also assists clients in establishing business entities, and in buying and selling business assets.



Before merging with Robinson & Farthing LLC, Ms. Young was a partner in the law firm of Robinson, Wolenty & Young, LLP from 2001 - 2018. Prior to that time she was a partner at Bose McKinney & Evans, LLP, having practiced in its Real Estate Group for 14 years. Before joining Bose, McKinney & Evans, she practiced law at Baker & Daniels (now Faegre Baker Daniels LLP) and was a law clerk to the Hon. S. Hugh Dillin, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. During law school, she clerked at the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission.



Active in organizing the Indianapolis chapter of the national professional real estate group, IndyCREW, she was its second President in 2003, received its highest award, the Donna Hovey Award, and remained active, having chaired and served on several committees, including the Women in Leadership Conference, Bylaws, Programs, Golf and Mentor Match Committees. She has also been active in the International Council of Shopping Centers,and was the Chairman of the ICSC 2002 Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana Law Symposium. She has spoken and published several written articles on commercial real estate leasing topics.



Ms. Young has been identified by Law & Politics and the publishers of Indianapolis Monthly as an Indiana Super Lawyer multiple years and was recognized as one of the top 25 female lawyers in Indiana in 2006. She also was selected as a Super Lawyer for the nationwide, 2009 Corporate Counsel Edition of Super Lawyers. Ms. Young is a Distinguished Fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation and enjoys membership in the Lawyers Club. Ms. Young has been a member of the Local Rules Advisory Committee and Civil Justice Reform Act Advisory Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, a member of the Indiana Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness, a Board member of the Community Organizations Legal Assistance Project (also known as the Community Development Law Center) and President of the Indianapolis Economic Development Commission. She received the Pro Bono Service Award from the Indianapolis Bar Association in 2003. Ms. Young was honored to be one of the 2013 Women of Influence recognized by the Indianapolis Business Journal.



Ms. Young has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Beta (Indiana University) and Gamma (Butler University) Chapters of Kappa Alpha Theta, served on the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter Board of Kappa Alpha Theta and served as the Finance District Director for District I of that international fraternal organization. She currently serves as the Beta Chapter Facility Corporation Board President. Ms. Young has been active in the Junior League of Indianapolis, serving as Chair of the Provisional Class fundraiser and as Chair of the Political Committee.



Ms. Young is admitted to practice in Indiana and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association and Indianapolis Bar Association. She received her J.D. from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law, cum laude, in 1983 and was an Associate Editor of the Indiana Law Review. She received a B.A. from Indiana University, double major with high distinction, in 1979 and is a member of academic honorary societies Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Beta Kappa.
