DeAnn L. Farthing, a lifelong Indiana resident, is a Partner at Robinson Farthing Spandau Williams, bringing with her vast legal expertise. Her educational journey commenced with the achievement of two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Indiana University at Indianapolis, setting the stage for her fervent pursuit of a career in law. Ms. Farthing realized her ambition, culminating in the attainment of her Juris Doctorate from the McKinney School of Law at Indiana University – Indianapolis.
Within her legal practice, Ms. Farthing dedicates herself to addressing the diverse needs of both corporate entities and individuals. She has provided legal representation across numerous Indiana counties, and her extensive experience encompasses over 200 business clients all over the State of Indiana. This breadth of experience allows her to remain attuned to legal developments that may impact business operations, all while
endeavoring to deliver cost-effective and efficient legal solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises.
Beyond her role as a legal advisor to business owners, Ms. Farthing passionately advocates for educating individuals at every life stage about the significance of prudent and strategic estate planning. On a daily basis, she equips clients with insightful responses to "what if" scenarios. Furthermore, her seasoned experience enables her to guide individuals through the often emotionally charged probate and trust administration processes following the loss of a loved one, with a goal to simplify the process.
Ms. Farthing's legal practice revolves around estate planning, private wealth planning, gift planning, premarital agreements, trust and estate administration, business law and formation, outside general counsel, contract law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate law as well as civil, commercial, trust and estate litigation. She actively participates in various associations, including the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, Estate Planning Council, Inc. of Indianapolis, is a member of the Professional Advisor Leadership Council (PALC) of Central Indiana Community Foundation, and was a long-time member of Business Networking International - Keystone Lunch Chapter. She also routinely serves as a speaker for the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum (ICLEF), Estate Planning Council, Inc. of Indianapolis and the Indiana Solo and Small Firm Conference. Additionally, Ms. Farthing prides herself on frequently volunteering for the Low Asset Wills Workshop and with local financial advisors to further public knowledge on estate planning.
Her legal proficiency has earned Ms. Farthing the accolade of a "Rising Star" in Estate Planning & Probate by Indiana Super Lawyers for the years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, a distinction awarded to only 2.5% of Indiana attorneys. In addition, she earned the honor of “Super Lawyer” for the years 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. These recognitions stem from a rigorous selection process involving comprehensive research, peer nominations, and peer reviews.
Outside of her legal career, Ms. Farthing finds joy in her family life, including her husband and three children. She cherishes quality moments spent outside on her family farm with her loved ones and actively participates in the Pennington Park Church community in Fishers, Indiana and supporting local and national charities close to her heart. Ms. Farthing is thankful for her faith in Jesus and uses it as a compass in all aspects of her life.
